The Academic Books can be stolen inside dungeon Bedlam in 3 different locations. After entering Bedlam, head northwest to the house (dorm rooms) where you find the Academic books downstairs. The other two books are downstairs in the champ spawn area. One is in the north study area and one in the south study area.
The Academic books are the main material needed to craft Academic Bookcase by the carpenters.
