If you brush some dust off a corpse and grind it just a little finer… you get one of the most explosive substances known to man.
Alchemists in Ultima Online don’t turn lead into gold — they brew magic potions. High-level alchemists can learn Glassblowing and, with Alchemy Recipes, craft special potions and a decorative item.
- Enhance Potions (EP): +1% for every 3.3 Alchemy skill (≈ 30% at 99.0).
This stacks beyond your item EP cap, up to a total max benefit of 80%.
Since Publish 73, you always count as having at least Alchemy / 2 EP regardless of gear. - Trained alchemists can identify the contents of Potion Kegs by drawing a potion from them (after which the type becomes visible to everyone).
Training
You’ll need dozens of Empty Potion Kegs, hundreds of Mortar & Pestles, Empty Bottles, and reagents:
- 2,500 Black Pearl
- 2,500 Blood Moss
- 5,000 Mandrake Root
- 10,000 Ginseng
- 20,000 Garlic
- 14,000 Grave Dust
Keg workflow: Drop your first potion onto an empty keg in your backpack; subsequent batches auto-fill that keg. Use Make Max to batch craft. When full, it will also fill bottles; swap to a new empty keg and continue.
Suggested skill path (with a Crystal Ball of Knowledge for optimal gains):
- 0–30: Train at an NPC Alchemist
- 30–45: Agility Potion
- 45–55: Strength Potion
- 55–65: Greater Agility Potion
- 65–75: Greater Strength Potion
- 75–85: Greater Heal Potion
- 85–95: Greater Cure Potion
- 95–100: Greater Conflagration Potion
