Archery

“Stand over there and let me shoot this apple off your head. No, really — the apple.”

From a distant grove of trees, a lone archer raises a bow, takes careful aim, and with the twitch of a finger, drops danger at range. Archery rewards steady aim and dexterous fingers, and also counts toward a character’s ability to perform Special Moves.

Note: Gargoyle characters cannot learn or use weapons that require Archery.

Training

  • 0–30: Purchase skill from a Warrior Guildmaster.
  • 30+: Equip a bow/crossbow and gain by hitting opponents. See the Melee Training Guide for detailed routines.

Weapons Overview

Archery offers two families of ranged weapons: bows and crossbows.

  • Bows: Slightly faster fire rate and typically a wider firing arc; consume Arrows.
  • Crossbows: Slower but hit harder per shot; consume Bolts.
  • Elven Composite Longbow: The only Archery weapon that can be used with Poisoning (via Serpent Arrow).
  • Quivers: Strongly recommended for any archer (ammo management and bonuses).
  • Two-Handed: All Archery weapons are two-handed unless they have the Balanced property.
