Begging
Begging lets you ask NPCs for small amounts of gold or common items. It’s mostly used for role-play; rewards are generally low, though seasonal events (e.g., Halloween) sometimes add unique items.
Note: Using Begging lowers Karma slightly.
Training
- Buy initial skill from Gypsies (in Britannia towns or Gypsy Camps).
- Use (macro or skill button), then target an NPC.
- If you gain, you may target that same NPC (and any earlier ones) again for additional gains.
- If you don’t gain, pick a different NPC.
Rewards
Gold (most NPCs)
- You typically receive gold based on your Karma.
- Very low Karma can produce a bugged negative stack labeled “A Gold Coin.”
- When moved, it shows ~65,535 coins, but it’s effectively worth 1 coin.
- It can’t be split and behaves as a single coin for purchases or check creation.
Special items (Heartwood Elves & Darius the Wise in Moonglow)
- These NPCs give items instead of gold.
- Items are tagged “Acquired by Begging” and are unstackable.
- Some art has normal and reversed versions; these count as different items.
Reward tiers (rough community estimates)
- Level 1: ~75%
- Level 2: ~24%
- Level 3: ~1%
